SAMA ORDERS INSURANCE COMPANIES TO COVER NATURAL DISASTER VEHICLE DAMAGES

SAMA (Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority) has ordered insurance companies to append a insurance policy covering damaged vehicles affected by natural disasters like flood, rain, hailstone or flash flood.




Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority made it mandatory to all vehicle insurance companies to cover natural disaster policy, whether it is individual or a company. SAMA warned insurance companies, they will face legal action for not following or obeying its circular.

- According to insurance experts, The damages caused to vehicles in the last week Jeddah floods is around 200 million Saudi Riyals and the Insurance companies should pay a compensation is expected in betweeen 150 to 200 Saudi Million Riyals.




- The director general of insurance control department Hesham Tashkandi issued a circular in which he asked all insurance companies to modify their products in order to comply with the insurance coverage of natural disasters.

- Insurance companies Violating this circular will face legal action starting from January 2018. SAMA is ensuring the claimants have adequate information on insurance products and the appropriate coverage of their needs.

4 NEW TUNNELS IN MADINA FOR THE SAFETY OF PEOPLE

Four new pedestrian tunnels is going to built in Madinah in order to easier access to people who want to go the northern central region said Madinah Development Authority to Saudi Press Agency.




The new tunnels on King Faisal Road that leads to Madinah Holy Mosque will help traffic flow and improve pedestrian safety. The tunnels will ensure that pedestrians reach the Prophet's Mosque.

- The 4 tunnels which is up to 125 meters long includes elevators that are specifically built to accomodate to the elderly people and special need people. More over 12 escalators and stairs were built to help pedestrians reach Madinah Munawwarah Mosque with crossing the road.




- The new tunnels includes AC systems, firefighting systems, lighting and sound systems and security surveillance systems. This developments are part of Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, who is the chairman of Madinah's Development Authority, plans to improve the city.

Ministry of Labor and Social Development now allows expat dependents to work temporarily during Hajj season by registering at Ajeer temporary Hajj employment program. Trending :4 new tunnels in Madinah to help pilgrims




However, expatriates need approval from their employers in order to work for other companies during Hajj season, Both citizens and expats above 15 years can use this system to find jobs. Recommend : 234,000 Expats lose jobs in first quarter of 2018

- Ajeer is an online system from Ministry of Labor and Social Development that links employers and employees. Individuals can post their resumes while companies can post the jobs.




- Hiring companies need to pay a fee of 160 Saudi riyals on each employee they get from Ajeer, The main aim of the Ajeer program is to reduce recruitment from outside the Kingdom during the peak season. See Also :Fines for transporting or employing illegal residents

- Expatriates cannot be recruited for the jobs which are reserved for Saudis, Domestic workers are not allowed to benefit from Ajeer system as per the Ministry of Labor and Social Development reported in Saudi Gazette.




- The Ajeer system serves both Hajj companies and other companies that providing services to pilgrims like transporting, catering, etc,. However non Hajj companies need to be in Green or above category in order to register at Ajeer and must be operating in Jeddah, Makkah or Madinah. - Investors from the sector have called for training on Ajeer systems, Similarly they called ministry to think on allowing domestic workers to look for jobs in this system as they are already in Saudi Arabia. - The average monthly salary for Saudi men is 10,289 Saudi riyals and Saudi women is 9,230 Saudi riyals. While in government sector, Saudi men is receiving 11,095 and Saudi women are receiving 10,289 Saudi riyals.

The Kingdom earlier announced that some jobs would be restricted for expatriates starting from September 11th of 2018. Good news for expatriates and private companies, as Ministry of Labor and Social Development resumed the services to change expatriate iqama professions, starting from Sunday. Recommend : Procedure to change iqama profession




In preperation for the implementation of the service, according to the new standard 'Categorized professions' from the beginning of the next Hijri year, which allows the modification of professions based on professional classifications and branching related to all major occupations. - The ministry's official spokesman Khalid Abaalkhil said that the service of modifying the new professions that will be implemented at the beginning of the new Hijri year allows the change of professions under a number of rules that are in line with international classifications, with a system of application through the Ministry's e-services portal.




- The system should verify the matrix related to the prevention of occupational change and verify the application of the different labor rules to the expatriate worker who is required to change his profession and the new profession. Similar :Iqama Profession change fee 

- The spokesman pointed out that the system allows integration service with the Saudi Council of Engineers, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants to verify that the worker obtains a certificate of practicing a profession, if the new profession is from engineering professions, health professions or accounting professions and there will be flexibility in adding any future reference bodies.



- He added that the ministry looks forward to the contribution of this service to the organization of the labor market and providing quality service to the beneficiaries, which raises the quality of the professions and improve the data related to them, thus contributing to the formulation of policies based on data of high statistical quality. He stressed that the ban on the use of liquefied gas includes sites within all holy sites, including the buildings and camps of government or charitable agencies involved in Hajj work without exception, and that the implementation of the resolution is done in coordination with the security authorities to prevent the introduction of gas into sacred sentiments, against violators.



The Civil Defense safety teams in the Hajj are conducting daily inspection tours inside the camps, to ensure that they are free of gas cylinders and stoves, to immediately seize the violators, to confiscate their possessions and to apply the fines for the offence, asserting that the decision was made to reduce the risk of fire in the camps and residences of pilgrims with sacred feelings since the beginning of the work during the past years.

Never ever buy sim cards from outside stalls in public places in Saudi Arabia, They will attract the people by giving free sim or ask them to pay very little money. Hi, I am Alvin, a Filipino resident in Jeddah, I am preparing for my final exit as my company ended contract with me. I am trying to clear all my belongings before I left. While doing so, I go through a below link from CITC.

- I am shocked to see 11 sims on my iqama number, that too post paid sims, Trust me, I only use one sim that is Mobily prepaid, remaining all are not mine. I went to the nearest Mobily center, I explained them, I found 4 post paid sims of Mobily on my name, which are not mine at all.




- He took my iqama and gave me details of 4 post paid sims, In which there was a bill of 250 Saudi riyals, He tell me to pay it, in order to cancel it, every month it will be increased, if you did not pay it. I refused, he said its on your id, you are the responsible to pay it, without paying the amount we cannot able to cancel them, If you will not pay, you will be stopped at airport while going on exit, I paid it with my sad face. - Then I went to Zain customer care center, After waiting for one hour, I got my token number, He said there are 6 post paid sim cards with your iqama number. In order to cancel it you need to pay the bill of 85 Saudi riyals. I tell I did not use it, He said its upto you, You want to pay or not but you will be stopped at airport as it is on your identity.




- I suggest all to not to left your iqama or its copy anywhere, try to give it only to the authentic offices. Do not buy sim cards from outside stalls, where they attract customers with free sim cards or for less amount. Buy only through their official telecom centers. Otherwise you may face the same problem as I faced. Read :Know your STC number
